Diatimaceous Earth Filter

Diatimaceous Earth Filter

A filter layer is formed by layering a filter aid on a detachable BASE FILTER assembled inside a filter tank, and once the pre-coating process is complete, the material to be filtered is put into the filter tank and passed through the precisely coated FILTER layer, thereby removing solid foreign substances (0.3~2 µm) contained in the original solution.

As the filtration operation time passes and the FILTER layer becomes contaminated by foreign substances, the filtration pressure increases and when the set pressure is reached, the BASE FILTER is restored to its original state through a drainage process using compressed air and a washing process (the washing efficiency is improved by filter rotation and washing nozzle swing method), and then the precoat process → filtration process → filter washing process is repeated to perform filtration.

Core Process Principles

Key Processes:

  1. Precoat Process:

    • Base Filter: The main filtration surface.
    • Filter Aid: Diatomaceous earth (or similar) is applied to the filter, trapping smaller particles.
    • Foreign Substance: Contaminants in the liquid are captured by the filter aid and base filter.
  2. Filtration Process:

    • Liquid is pumped through the system, filtering out contaminants. Clean liquid is sent back to the main system, and sludge is collected in a tank for dehydration.
  3. Rotating & Swing Filter:

    • The filter enhances efficiency by rotating and cleaning itself, increasing filtration capacity.
  4. Dehydration:

    • The Dehydration Pump and Automatic Dehydrator further remove water from sludge for easier disposal.

Process Flow:

  • Dirty Liquid -> Mixing Tank -> Filter Pump -> Filtration Unit (Base Filter + Filter Aid) -> Clean Liquid (Sent back to system).
  • Foreign Substances -> Sludge Tank -> Dehydration -> Disposal.

Efficiency Boost:

  • The rotational movement of the disk filter combined with simultaneous washing improves the filtration process, keeping the system clean and extending its operating life.

Special features of Fully Automatic Filters

  • Filter Structure
The filter’s structure is separated, making replacement costs low and reducing contamination. The rotating shaft is separate, making it easy to maintain and manage. The maintenance structure allows for simple management, and the cleaning efficiency is high depending on the type of trapped material. The cleaning nozzle swings (optional), increasing washing efficiency.

  • Dehydrator
The rotating drum (with chamber-coupled seal and cake unloading plate conveyor) has a wide setting range. Especially, the cake unloading plate conveyor allows free adjustment of speed and torque, selecting the appropriate thickness and area for the dehydration drum, thus increasing efficiency and reducing dehydration time.

  • Standard Storage Tank
The standard storage tank uses a dual air pulse method, which has high instantaneous filtering efficiency. It features good fluidity with a special cartridge and bag filter structure.

Features of the Fully Automatic Filter (Diatomaceous Earth)

Key Advantages of Precoat Filters:

  1. Fully Automated Sludge Treatment: Automates the process, reducing labor.
  2. Low Cost of Consumables: Consumable costs are minimized.
  3. Reduced Operating Costs: Lower maintenance expenses.
  4. Effective Removal of Fine Sludge: Removes particles between 0.3 to 1 µm.
  5. Flexible Filtration Levels: Users can select the filtration level based on needs.
  6. Long Filter Life: Filters last up to 3 years.
  7. Excellent Cleaning Efficiency: Filters are easy to clean and maintain.
  8. Cost-Effective: Lower overall cost due to specially developed filters.

Filter Comparison:

  • Precoat Filters offer superior price performance, costing significantly less while providing excellent filtration precision (0.3–0.8 µm).
  • Other filters like Membrane Filters and Micro Filters have higher costs and generate more waste.
